Thoughts on 2000 Land Rover Discovery Series 2

Submitted by steviediesel56 on Thu, 02/16/2012 - 10:00

Hi all,

I just recently (3 months) have been reading all I can about overland traveling to South America and attempting to plan the trip.  I will be traveling from Chicago to Rio de Janiero with hopefully my younger brother and a friend or two.  Currently, I have a 2000 Land Rover Discovery Series 2 with 106,000 miles on it.  It runs on regular unleaded gas and I will be taking it in to get an overall check up and some things changed but am unsure if this is a good vehicle to be taking on a long trip.  Any thoughts, ideas, tips will be greatly appreciated!

Steve
