Reason for taking this trip – seeing more from the world

Why did you decide to drive? – to be more independent and to be able to find great spots along the way

Are you also taking along children?  If so, names and ages. - No

What type of car are you driving? – Land Rover Defender 110 SW with rooftop tent

Did you make any modifications to your car for this trip? – a lot … sometimes I think too many modifications J

How did you save up or finance your trip? – Saving money for the last years

How long do you plan on traveling? – at least until end of 2012

Where do you plan on driving? – from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego

What were your family’s and friends’ reactions when you told them about your trip before you left? – it is not our first trip; so the only question was: how long this time?

Did you speak Spanish before you left your home country? – a little; we´ve already been in South America and took some lessons

How much Spanish?  Are you taking more Spanish lessons as you travel? - Yes

If so, where and for how long? – Probably in Antigua, Guatemala for 2 weeks and later on in Nicaragua some more lessons

Do you have a favorite place or country that you have visited during your trip? – so far everything was great,

What was the weirdest thing you experienced on your trip? – seeing the huge trailers (rolling homes) and cars in north America

What was the worst border crossing? – so far everything was fine …

Do you have any advice for others who may be considering driving the Americas? – Don’t underestimate the time for the preparations of such a long trip …

Would you do it again? – YES!
