buy car South America

Wanted: car/van in South-America starting January 2018

Hi there!

My boyfriend and I are planning a road trip through the South-Americas. We are still trying to figure out how purchasing a car and all of that (incl. getting rid of it) works. We would preferably start in Colombia and take it all the way down to Argentina.
Any tips? Would love to hear it.
Any cars or vans or sorts available from January? Let me know and keep us in mind!

Thank you!
