Volkswagen Kombi 1977 parts in South america?

Hello,

We are experienced travellers with an oldtimer Mercedes and never had any troubles finding oarts for our car in the european continent also marocco and Turkey.

Does anyone have experience in driving the south americas with a volkswagen van or know if spare parts will be available?
