FOR SALE; Mitshubishi Delica Space Gear 2.8tdi 4x4 LWB Camper conversion Chile

FOR SALE: Mitsubishi Delica Space Gear 2.8tdi LWB 4x4 Auto Camper conversion in Chile

For sale is my beloved Delica! I have had a incredible year with this beauty but all good things have to come to an end and I'm off to Australia to do my work/holiday visa.

I will be soo sad to see her go but this fully equipped mechanicaly sound campervan will give loads of fun and adventures to new owner/s.

This vehicle is a Chilean plated 'zona franca' van which means it is limited to being driven in the tax free regions of Chile .....but you can legaly drive it throughout the rest of South America as long as you cross back into chile into the tax free region...this didn't bother me as I was looking for this specific model 4x4 diesel delica to drive south America and it's only really available in this region...and soo I did! For those of you who don't know about the delica then do some research now !

I have kept on top of all servicing and have kept it mechanically tip top! I'm currently in Bolivia at the moment changing the timing chain and suspension joints ready for its new owners:

  • It will have new timing chain kit / water pump / oil pump (the timing chain was getting worn out and making the characteristic chuffing noise under heavy load and high revs that is common on these cars of this age...and while changing the chain, it makes sense to  changing the water pump and oil pump as they're all connected together and saves future hassle)
  • It has new brake pads and discs
  • It has new suspension joints
  • all the fluids (brake fluid, transmission fluid, refrigerant, steering fluid) have been changed since I got the car and I change the oil/filters every 5000-7000km

I converted the van last year and it's a good conversion with everything required to go off grid into the wilderness for a week or so. The bed is a really comfortable double bed with upto 2.0m in length and can sleep 2-3 people (4 spooning).

Vehicle specs:

  • 1997 250000km
  • 2.8l TDI Intercooled engine with 125hp (can get 10l/100km hopefully more after timing chain replacement)
  • mechanically selectable 4x4 2H/4H/4HLc/4LLc with center diferencial lock (Extremely useful in South America....has gotten me into and out of some incredible situations)
  • Goodyear 235/75 r15 All terrain tyres with good     life

Equipment:

  • roof rack
  • 100w solar panel with voltage regulator/charge unit
  • solar shower/water storage for cleaning dishes ect..
  • 100ah gel leisure battery (1yr old always kept charged) and fused electrical switchboard
  • inverter for 230v mains power
  • 1000w pioneer amplifier with sub woofer and JBL speakers for on the road entertainment or beach parties!
  • medical kit and fire extinguisher
  • 12v electrical cooler/fridge
  • 2 burner gas cooker and gas tank
  • extra alcohol stove
  • barbeque
  • pans/plates /bowls /knifes ... everything good quality need to cook for 4 people
  • bucket
  • mosquito net
  • 2 man tent
  • 20litre Jerry can and 2x30litre spare fuel cans
  • toolkit with socket set /screwdrivers / pliers/ spanners / everything needed to get you out the shit!
  • squichy mattress liner and duvet and sheets for super comfy sleeping.
  • sleeping bag (for the tent)
  • cushions

This car has the 4M40 2.8tdi engine which is shared amongst various mitsubishi models and so spares are easy to find in South America. The only country I struggled for spares was Ecuador but it's only a small country .

I am selling her fully equipped ready to go at a modest price of £4300 / €5000 ... Ready to buy next week in Iquique / Arica.

I can help you get a chilean RUT (needed to buy a car in Chile) and will help with the purchase process if your Spanish isn't quite there yet!

Send me a message and leave me your WhatsApp number and I will get back to you quickly .

Cheers, Thom
