Shipping from USA to South America (Colombia)

Looking for an  agent to ship my vehicle from the USA preferably Texas (as i am in California) to Colombia. Is it posible to hire an agent in the USA with contacts in South America to handle all the work ?  I am looking to drive around South America starting in Colombia and ending up in Brazil. Not interested in driving all the way down through central america then shipping from pananma on. Just want to focus on south america. Please respond with any advice or recomended agents.

I'm doing the same . . .

Hey Brazil Guy,

I'm doing the same and am trying to find info. So far I've been getting quotes into Columbia and into Ecuador (out of Gavlveston, Jacksonville, and Baltimore . . . I am also in  Cali and couldn't fin anyone who ships out of W.coast)

Here are email addresses/websites of a few agents you should contact that I've bee emailing with for quotes:

Carex Shipping: [email protected]

[email protected]

NYK Lines: E-mail: [email protected]

I have a camper van, so my prices probably don't compare to yours, but these people have all be responsive and given me reasonable quotes. I have to do RoRo because of my size, but a container is cheaper/safer for your vehichle if it will fit (google standard container size to find measurements)

I've found that the cheapest return shipping will be out of Buenos Aires to Jacksonville (since I want to start in the north and drive south).

Best of luck! ~ Isa

There's definitely companies

There's definitely companies in the US that can handle the paperwork, etc. (I assume this is what you're looking for). You're smart to put some time into finding a carrier that does this--it can cost a lot more and become a tremendous hassle if done differently. Isa had some good recommendations and I'll add one to it: It's been a couple years and it was a motorcycle, not a car, but I was pretty pleased with how easily it was taken care of (by Colombia standards, anyway). Hope this helps.
