*SOLD*Price Drop for Toyota Land Cruiser in Santiago / Mendoza available from 1st March 2017. $6,000

Hello guys,

We are two English chaps who flew to California, bought this beast of a car and drove down to Argentina. It's been a real blast and we love the car but soon we will need to sell up and return home :-(

The car is brilliant, drives like a dream and can tackle any terrain you can think of (even the "roads" of the Bolivian Atacama). Honestly there's no better vehicle for the Panamerican highway! It eats up miles on tarmac and we can pull off-road wherever we feel like to make camp. The reason for the price drop is that 1) we need to sell up and head home soon, and 2) the odometer and petrol gauge stopped working a few days ago :-( This is really annoying for us as we know we're selling it for much less than it's worth now. It really is a steal.

It's a 100 series 1999 4.8L V8 with diff lock, low+high gears and 225,000 miles.

Furthermore we have made a few very minor but very useful adaptions including a kill switch, tinted windows, a viper alarm system, 100L steel lock box (in place of the very rear passenger seats, we keep our expensive climbing gear in here but there are still 5 seats and plenty of space behind), a huge and very comfortable 92.5" x 74.8" roof tent AND we are throwing in some extra gear:

A Colemans multi fuel stove (RRP $100ish)
Spare battery
Jump leads
Mini fridge
Hi-fi system
12v to mains adaptor
Roof tent LED lighting strip
Steering wheel lock
Two sets of lightweight drawers
Two camping chairs
Two large/two small plastic storage boxes
Spare fuel container
25L water container
Pots/pans/wooden spoon etc...

If you don't need this we can sell it elsewhere. PM for a photos or check out http://www.drivetheamericas.com/forums/toyota-land-cruiser-santiago-mend...

We will be in Mendoza until the 8th February if you want to view the car. After that we're up a mountain for a month and looking to sell the car any time after March 1st in the Mendoza/Santiago area.

Please help!

Wondering if any of you guys could help us: we had some very interested buyers for our car in Mendoza, Argentina. We tried to get a notarised document stating they could drive our car over borders until the title deed of ownership came through in their own name. The lawyer (poder) wouldn't do it because the title deed is from the USA and they said here was no way of telling that it was genuine and not a fake. So we lost our buyers and they lost the opportunity to buy our car :-(

Does anyone have any experience / can tell us how to get around this?

Also has anyone changed the ownership of a car with USA plates (California) by mail/internet to a foreign person (our buyers were from Belgium).

Thanks in advance for any help.

provisionally sold

We have sold to a German guy living in uruguay who specialises in buying foreign cars. If all goes well I will post here and recommend or not recommend doing the same.
