VOLKSWAGEN VANAGON T3 - FOR SALE NOW (SANTIAGO OR BUENOS AIRES) - 7500 USD

Hi fellow/future Overlanders!

We are selling our 1983 Volkswagen Vanagon (T3; original Westfalia camper van; with pop-up roof). The engine is a 1.9 liter fuel injection, watercooled, and has just been completely revised and reassembled in December 2016 by South America's best T3 specialist in Santiago.  According to the mechanic, on a scale from 1 to 10, the engine's quality is now at 21 ;-)

The Vanagon has Californian license plates, which comes in handy because you can buy and sell the car everywhere in the world; you just need a US embassy for the paperwork and the process is very straightforward and is completed in no time (we are very happy to advise and assist; we did the same with the previous owners).

We would like to sell our beloved roadtrip companion between 22-24 January in Santiago or Buenos Aires (the sale process is very straightforward and you can be on the road in one/two days!).  Unfortunately, we have only limited flexibility on the dates since we need to fly back home to Europe.

Some more details about the van:

  • sofa convertible to bed (sleeps comfortably two tall persons), comes with all bed linen (duvet, two pillows, warm blankets, as well as towels, etc.)
  • pop-up roof with second bed (sleeps two additional people); the pop-up roof has three windows, two with fly screens; its canvas is in used condition and has a few nicks and holes that can easily be stitched (we mostly traveled in rainy, cold Patagonia and therefore never used the tent...)
  • two swing tables
  • the two front seats swivel 180 degrees so that you can create a cozy "living room atmosphere" with sofa and armchairs around the middle table (perfect to wine and dine with fellow travellers!)
  • ample storage space in cupboards and shelves (storage under sofa, above bed, on the side of bed, in the kitchen cabinet, etc.)
  • sink and tap with 50 liter water tank
  • indoor gas stove (we never used it but should work); additional camping gas stove
  • leisure battery with solar panel & inverter to be able to charge electronic devices (including laptops)
  • all the cooking equipment you need (cutlery, pans and pots, cutting board, bowls, cups, glasses, etc.)
  • spare petrol container (20 liters)
  • Yakima roof rack for carrying surfboard
  • spare tire
  • snow chains
  • steering lock and safety box (under seat)
  • tools and spare parts (for example air filter)
  • bus depot canvas that fits to the side
  • camping table (that also serves as support for camping gas stove)
  • JVC radio and Pioneer front speakers
  • original user manual (and an overview of receipts of works done on the van)
  • no rust on the chassis
  • you may use our Allianz car insurance for MERCOSUR countries, which is valid until 11 April 2017

The car is of course in used condition (33 years old, odometer stopped at 238.000 miles, some rusty spots on the outside paint) but has proved to be a sturdy companion on the roads in South America :)  We traveled the entire Carretera Austral (that's as bad - but also as beautiful - as a road in South America gets!), made it all the way to Ushuaia and had loads of fun with it!  We would love to sell to fellow travelers for you to enjoy South America the same way we did :)

We have attached some pictures, and are happy to send more.  Price asked: 7500 USD.

If you are interested, please contact us by Whatsapp (+33 6 46 43 14 42) or email ([email protected]).
