Where to leave our truck in Uruguay or Argentina for more than 6 months ?

Hello everyone.

We are returning home for more than 6 months and are looking for a safe place to leave our truck in Uruguay or Argentina.

We are actually in Mendoza and our plane leaves in two weeks in Buenos Aires. If anyone knows of a safe place near Mendoza, Buenos Aires or in Uruguay not too far from Buenos Aires, your help would be really appreciated.

The perfect place would be a guarded place like a camping or a private home, that would charge something like 30$US per month for parking the car.

Also, if you know know if it is allowed to leave the country without our car in Uruguay and Argentine.

Thank you for your help,

I would offer you a place in

I would offer you a place in Chile, Santiago or Los Andes city , but the lenght of stay for a vehicle in Chile (6mo) is much less than Argentina(8 mo.) and Uruguay (1yr.). I have relatives in Chile who have secured parking space.

In Los Andes , we have a private parcel open lot , in a gated community, secure 24 hours (nobody enter or go out without permission).

In Santiago, we have a private warehouse for a monthly rate. Motorcycle $75/mo.  Car or Camper must be arranged  rate with my rep (the owner).

For other cities South of Chile let me know.

In response to your question, YES you are allow ot leave the car as long the temporary entry permit for your vehicle say it. But, you must enter the country before this date and leave the country with your vehicle before its due. I will recomend to leave a power of attorney (poder notarial) to the person in charge just in case the vehicle need to be moved around the streets while you are out.

Leaving a vehicle in Argentina

there is a RV rental company in  Beunas Aires called Andeanroads

When we were there last year they were prepared to store vehicles at their facility.

We left our vehicle with them for a few weeks while my wife (the owner of our vehicle

returned to the US)

their website is andeanroads.com

Just found a great place to leave the truck in Uruguay

Thank you all for you help :-)

We finally took the night ferry from Buenos Aires to Colonia, Uruguay. When you book a round trip and take the night ferry, these is a significant discount making it affordable.

We spent two days looking storages options for the truck and found different options at different prices in the city of Colonia. The prices vary from 1000 to 2000 UR$ per month (50$US to 100$US) for a guarded warehouse, and from 0 to 1000 UR$ (0$US to 50$US) for a guarded place without a roof.

So now, the truck is stored and we are on our way back home,

Would you mind posting your storage information and contact information here?  I'm sure others would find it useful as well. Thanks!
